Hi, i’m having a problem with one of my flatmates at uni. He’s a bit of a ‘joker’ so he’s always made fun of me a bit and i didn’t really mind, it’s just a laugh. Over the last couple of weeks he’s started overstepping the mark and some of the things he says and does are quite hurtful. We went out last night and he said mean things to me all night, like telling me to **** off. Afterwards just me and him were talking and he started telling me all this personal stuff, which then apparently turned out to all be a lie and he was just seeing if he could get me to believe it. This morning i casually mentioned that he was mean last night but he just said that’s because i was ‘clinging to me like a little limpet’ (which i wasn’t…) and he said this in front of some of my other flat mates as well which made me feel very undermined. He then just told me to “stop sulking”.
I’ve told one of my other flatmates about this and she agrees he’s being out of order, should i confront him on the issue or just leave it? i don’t want to cause tension amongst our friends but at the same time i’m sick of the way he treats me.
also, we’ve sort of had a “thing” going on for a while which makes even less sense as he says stuff to me and then expects to still be in my good books
