WHAT WAS The MOVIE The Incredible Mr. Limpet ABOUT?

details please. An more about the lady fish

I read that deep sea fish are now unsafe to eat… now what?

The local papers reported recently that due to higher levels of pollution in the oceans, fish like barracuda, grouper, sea bass, etc are now unsafe to eat.

This might also explain why when I was younger I was able to eat shellfish and all sorts of seafood without any problem, but now I can’t – shellfish like limpets, abalone, oysters, etc trigger a severe immune response in me.

Also I have read that farmed salmon are fed chemicals that might be carcinogenic to humans, and that tuna and other fish now contain high levels of toxins in them.

So my question is, with more and more things being deemed unsafe due to pollution or being fed unsafe chemicals, where do we go from here?

I don’t have any land to grow my own organic food on! And even then, who is to say the soil isn’t polluted?

Sigh!

What are these things in my fish tank?

They look exactly like limpets-see link->http://www.caudata.org/cc/articles/Tank_critters.shtml They are the ones in the picture on the left. They are all over my tank, and are climbing up out of the water-stuck to the sides of the tank, and all over the rocks. They feel hard on the outside, and are almost super-glued to the sides of the tank. We took all of our fish out of one 30gal tank, and into this other one. The former tank-even though it has been empty for about a month now-also has these things in there-stuck to the sides of the tank. I can’t tell if they are alive or dead now…but I have looked up fish lice, and then came across this photo-which is exactly what they look like. I am still not convinced-alot of things could look like those right? I just want to know exactly what they are. Alot of fish have been dying off recently too, but I don’t see any of these things on the fish.
Most of them seem to like staying up out of the water(closer to the light maybe?) We have pushed them down below the water line-and they move back up, out of the water. They have a hard outer shell. (we switched tanks because of a leak-we didn’t know the tank had these things in there-the empty tank still has some water in the gravel as well).

1960′s movie where man is coward and day dreams all day. in his day dream he stands up for himself.?

This is a movie ive seen on Turner Classic Movie Channel but cannot remember the name of it. I was thinking something like The Infamous Mr or Incrediable Mr. (Not Limpet not the fish movie with don notts in it )

Human Speech Traced to Talking Fish. Ummm……….right. ( o _ 0 ) Your thoughts?

From Don Knotts’ portrayle of “Mr. Limpet” to the children’s favorite “Nemo” and the tuna-pitching character in the “Sorry, Charlie” commercials, we all have seen fish that can talk. But that’s just fiction, right?

Well …

Researchers say real fish can communicate with sound, too. And they say (the researchers, that is) that your speech skills and, in fact, all sound production in vertebrates can be traced back to this ability in fish. (You got your ears from fish, too.)

The new study was led by Andrew Bass (we did not make this up) of Cornell University.

The scientists mapped developing brain cells in newly hatched midshipman fish larvae and compared them to those of other species. They found that the chirp of a bird, the bark of a dog and all the other sounds that come out of animals’ mouths are the products of the neural circuitry likely laid down hundreds of millions of years ago with the hums and grunts of fish.

“Fish have all the same parts of the brain that you do,” Bass explained.

His team traced the development of the connection from the midshipman fish’s vocal muscles to a cluster of neurons located in a compartment between the back of its brain and the front of its spinal cord. The same part of the brain in more complex vertebrates, such as humans, has a similar function, indicating that it was highly selected for during the course of evolution.
I just can’t accept that the human race evolved from monkeys or fish or funky looking amoebas or whatever else thing that crawls around. I’m not about to argue Divine Creation versus evolution. That’s an exercise in futility at best.

In THE INCREDIBLE MR. LIMPET?

What was the name of the angry crab and the underwater fish girlfriend?
