Years later, I saw it on TV and remained impressed by its cleverness and not-too-bad animation. A couple of weeks ago, I was able to watch about the first 45 minutes and wished that I had taped the whole thing to watch all together. What truly amazed me was how vividly I recalled all of it! I remembered what the fish looked like, including Mr. Limpet and Ladyfish; the sound he makes; and so much more. I plan to watch for it and think that this is one that parents and children can watch together without the adults wishing they were elsewhere. I'm sure your child is going to enjoy it very much. NOTE: Why should the bad guys be confusing? They'll show up in other movies later, including "Raiders of the Lost Ark". Children become familiar with much of the world and history through animated films first, perhaps more in the past than in the present-day. So many films made in the past 20 years or so are very anachronistic, which confuses many children and the adults they become. Today, someone actually thought that Hippies and rock 'n' roll were around in 1948!
